Who We Are

Princeton Living Well

Princeton Living Well (PLW) is a multifaceted healthy lifestyle program designed to promote diabetes prevention, weight control, and general wellness throughout the entire Princeton community. PLW provides a way for members of the community – residents, retail businesses, restaurants, healthcare providers, and local organizations – to come together to form a supporting network, encouraging individuals to increase their physical activity, manage their weight, and develop and maintain healthier lifestyles.

Member benefits include:

  • This community Web site is devoted to providing a wealth of personal and community resources to support healthy lifestyles. This includes our comprehensive Community Calendar of events, Community Listings “yellow pages,” local and national articles about health and wellness, health blogs, networking forums, health tips and news, health links to local and national resources, Living Well Navigator, and health tools to calculate, record, and track personal data and statistics for physical activity, weight, and more.
  • A rewards system –– that allows members to trade in “points” for Princeton area services or merchandise.
  • A member card used to receive discounts at local retailers and restaurants.

PLW was initially made possible by a grant from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the support of researchers and healthcare specialists at Yale University and the University of Minnesota. Viocare, Inc. has grown and expanded the program ready to serve communities around the country.
