Princeton Living Well (PLW) is a web-based program designed to improve the dietary and physical activity patterns of communities.
To fund initial program development, Viocare, Inc. was awarded a two-year expanded Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase I grant R43 DK70418 from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH).
The program consists of two phases:
Phase I: Feasibility
Viocare has completed the Phase I evaluation to determine feasibility by focusing on participants' reactions to using PLW as a tool for weight control and diabetes prevention. The target residential population for the pilot was the entire Princeton area, including Princeton Borough, Princeton Township, West Windsor, Plainsboro, Cranbury, South Brunswick, Montgomery, Hopewell Borough, Hopewell Township, Pennington, and Lawrenceville. Publications from this study will be made available via this web site.
Phase II: Replication and Dissemination
Phase II will bring “Living Well” programs to communities across America. If you are interested in starting a Living Well program in your community, please contact us .
